Dihya - Selections from Tape (1982-1988)

Born in Algeria and raised in France, Zohra Aissaoui 

began performing in radio contests and on Paris stages 

before signing with the major label Polydor. She released 

a 7" single called “Badala Zamana,” which had some success. However, after losing the rights to the song, she left the large-scale music industry, took on the name Dihya, and leaned fully into her Berber identity. These four Dihya tracks from the 1980s were sourced from cassette tapes and remastered at our studio.
